Makeup Play #3: Orange You Irate?

Hello everyone!
I am back, and I am super excited to return to the blog.

Today, I'm posting the details behind a look I posted recently on my Instagram:

Instagram @ladyjpsych
If you don't follow me on Instagram, nor have read any of my previous Makeup Play Posts, the general idea behind this series is, I ask my friends to choose any colour of their liking, and I have to incorporate them into a makeup look.

This time, the colours they chose were:
  1. Yellow (Gold)
  2. Green
  3. Burnt Orange
My friends have a wicked sense of humour. Luckily I do own a ridiculously beautiful orange eyeshadow, multiple shades of green, however, since I don't own a strict yellow eyeshadow, I was allowed to improvise with a yellow gold.

Eyeshadows Used:

L.A. Colors Eyeshadow Pot in Bare Mauve as my transition shade, and also to help blend out the orange eyeshadow.

Sacha Cosmetics Eyeshadow in High Voltage Orange - I used this in the crease, for that beautiful, warm burnt orange colour. Blending it out with Bare Mauve toned down the intensity of the shade. Although it is listed as a Frosted Eyeshadow on Sacha's website, in person it is more of a satin.

Colourpop Cosmetics Super Shock Shadow in Hammered - By far my favourite green eyeshadow. A smokey, olive green, with gold reflects; it satiates my desire for MAC's Sumptuous Olive.

Milani Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadow in Gold Dust (discontinued) - I still don't know why Milani discontinued this line of single eyeshadows because they were the most beautifully pigmented, easy to blend and affordable eyeshadows. I tend to use Gold Dust strictly to highlight, since I personally find it far too yellow for my eyelids. I prefer brass or coppery gold all over the lid.

From left to right - Bare Mauve, H.V. Orange, Hammered, Gold Dust
This look required a lot of blending, and a lot of patience. Although the Sacha eyeshadow is easy to blend, and extremely pigmented, and it was difficult trying to not overblend the eyeshadow, or blend it out too high. I spent 20 minutes on each eye just ensuring that the orange was strong but not overwhelming alone. There were moments when I wanted to scrap the look, however, since my friends were holding me to the challenge, I powered through.

If you're wondering, yes I wore this to work...*anywho*...I kept the rest of the look fairly simple, a touch of eyeliner, tons of mascara ( L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt), Kat Von D Lolita on the lips, and City Color Cosmetics Be Matte Blush in Papaya on the cheeks.

This was one of the more time consuming, and challenging looks simply because I've never worked with orange eyeshadow before; but it was fun nonetheless, and I truly love how the look turned out. I would definitely wear this look again.

Thank you all so much for stopping by. I hope you all enjoyed. My next post is going to be a review, so until then, stay happy, healthy, and positive.
Bye (^_^)/

Product Review: Milani Shadow Eyez 12 HR Eyeshadow

Hello everyone!

Another quick review coming your way today. This post was supposed to be done last week, but I was under the weather after getting completely drenched in rain last week (>_<)'.

A couple months ago, I picked up two (2) of the Milani Shadow Eyez pencils to test out. I've seen and heard a lot of buzz about them since they initially launched, but because of my oily skin, and the intense weather here in Trinidad, I didn't think they would work well on me.
I did buy these both on sale for TT$26, and they retail for approximately US$7.49 on the Milani Cosmetics website.

My Milani Shadow Eyez Pencils
Shades:
09 Café Au Lait - Cool-toned Brown (Matte)
10 Almond Cream - Neutral Beige (Matte)

I chose these shades for a couple reasons;
  1. They were on sale!
  2. Emilynoel83 always talks highly of the Shadow Eyez in Almond Cream, and if she's says it is good, then it must be good.
  3. Jackie Aina videos were the first time I saw Café Au Lait in use, and I just fell for the shade.
Swatch:
Almond Cream (top), Café Au Lait (bottom)

Product Claim: This water-resistant and crease-proof eyeshadow pencil can be worn multiple ways—as a shadow, liner and highlighter. (from Milani Cosmetics Website)

My Experience: When I first swatched these pencils, I was amazed how creamy and silky they were, and their pigmentation is amazing! The swatches shown above are one swipe of each pencil. I use Almond Cream as a highlighter under my brows, and sometimes to brighten up the inner rim of my eyes. It never smudged in my waterline, and most waterproof pencils smudge on me, since my eyes tend to get watery quite easily these days. This product lives up to its claim of being water-resistant.
As an eyeshadow or eyeshadow base, these pencils work magnificently well. They blend easily onto the eyes, and they stay put. I haven't experienced any creasing while using it as a base, nor have I had problems blending powder eyeshadows over them.

The only jumbo eyeshadow pencils I have that I can compare this with are the Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick. They have a similar feel, very creamy and silky. Both have great pigmentation, and no smudging or smearing while in the waterline. Both are great products and you won't be disappointed with either in my honest opinion.

I love multi-use products like this, and I've been contemplating getting a couple more shades to use as fun pops of colour, since the ones I own don't budge even on the most humid days.
I also love when a product lives up to its claims, and when you get a great product on sale, even better!

I hope you all enjoyed today's post, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I have a quiz to go study for, so I will catch you next week (hopefully).
Stay happy, positive and healthy guys!
Bye (^_^)/

Best in Beauty 2015: Face

Welcome back everyone!
I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I have part 2 of my Best in Beauty series, and today it's all about my favourite face products for 2015. Most of the products being mentioned may have full reviews that I will link to at the end the post.

Primer and Mattifier:

elf Cosmetics Mineral Face Primer

New Bottle
This primer is definitely my top pick for 2015. I always repurchase this primer. This primer blurs my pores, and helps my foundation apply more evenly.
Earlier in 2015, I fell in love with the Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer, but I haven't been able to repurchase it since it hasn't been in stock. However, the elf Mineral Face Primer is cheaper than the Rimmel.

Sacha Cosmetics Mattifier Face Primer

I do have a full review of this, but to keep it short and sweet. This mattifies the skin beautifully, and keeps me less oily than I would usually be throughout the day. I love the squeeze tube packaging, and its flat black matte finish.

Foundation:

Maybelline Fit Me: Matte and Poreless 310 Sun Beige
I'm currently down to half a bottle of this foundation. I don't think I have anything bad to say about this product, maybe it can use a pump, then again most drugstore foundations don't come with a pump. This just blends effortlessly into the skin, it doesn't matter if you use a sponge or a brush.
My full review will be linked below.

Concealer:

L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Pure Beige

I've never really been into using concealer, but doing my Masters' Degree means long, and sometimes sleepless nights, and I also experience insomnia therefore under eye darkness is my old friend. This shade matches my complexion perfectly, and covers up any discolouration or darkness beneath the eyes.

Setting Powder:

Undereyes: Sacha Cosmetics Buttercup Loose Powder

Full review is available.
I have nothing bad to say about this powder. Sacha Cosmetics has greatly improved the quality of their products over the years.
This powder is silky, and just beautiful. I use it to set my concealer under my eyes.
Face: Maybelline Fit Me: Matte and Poreless Powder
Maybelline Fit Me: Matte-Poreless 310 Sun Beige
Soft, blendable and keeps me matte. (Review will be linked below).

Blush:

Milani Powder Blush in Romantic Rose and City Color Cosmetics Be Matte Blush in Papaya

Both of these blushes are matte in finish, they are also very smooth and pigmented, so a little goes a long way. they blend out easily. Both colours are very neutral, and good for everyday wear.
These blushes wear for a full 8 hours.
The City Color Blushes are a lot cheaper than the Milani, they retail for approximately TT$22-TT$25, while the Milani ranges from TT$55-TT$65.

Milani Romantic Rose (left), City Color Cosmetics Papaya (right)

Setting Sprays: Sacha Fix It & L'Oreal Infallible Pro Spray and Set
My go-to Setting Sprays
Both set my makeup beautifully, and reduces the "cakey" look that powders leave behind. However, the L'oreal truly prolongs the wear of my makeup throughout the day. The Fix It Spray, while it doesn't prolong the wear of my makeup, does a good job at just setting the face. I tend to interchange my use of these products, hence why they're both 2015 favourites.

I don't bronze, contour or highlight my face, therefore I have no favourites for those categories.

Thank you all so much for stopping by!
Next week, I'll be concluding this Best in Beauty 2015 with Lips. I'm also going to be beginning my second semester for my Masters' Degree, and I am anxious.
As always stay happy, healthy, and positive and I will talk to you all soon.

Bye! (^_^)/

Best in Beauty 2015: Eyes

Hello everyone! Welcome back!

Today, I'm going to be talking about my favourite eye makeup of 2015. A lot of the products being mentioned would have separate reviews that I shall link to at the end of the blog post.

Eyebrows:
NYX Tinted Brow Mascara
Revlon Brow Fantasy
  • NYX Tinted Brow Mascara - BrunetteThis product has become a staple for me since I first purchased it. My only problem is that my local NYX retailers never seem to have it stock. This tinted brow mascara has become my everyday, go-to eyebrow product, for natural fuller looking brows.

  • Revlon Brow Fantasy - Dark Brown
For slightly more defined brows, this two in one pencil and brow gel is what I turn to. It is easy to use, and the pencil has the right mix of stiffness and pigmentation to help you avoid going overboard on the brows.

Primers:
  • Smashbox 24HR Photo Finish Eyeshadow Primer
  • Milani Eyeshadow Primer
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion

My trio of Eye Primer Faves - Smashbox 24 Photo Finish, Milani Eye Primer and UDPP
I know you're probably sick of seeing these three (3) eyeshadow primers constantly, however as a Caribbean girl, with oily eyelids, believe me when I say these primers work. They don't cause my shadows to slip or slide (both cream and powder), and I get very minimal to no creasing with them. The Smashbox 24 Hour Eyeshadow Primer, is thicker in consistency, and lasts the longest of the three, however, because of its limited availability in Trinidad, I tend to save using it for special occasions. The Urban Decay Primer Potion and Milani Eyeshadow Primer, are very similar, I shall leave my review for those at the end.

Palette:

  •  MAC Cosmetics Warm Neutral Palette
    MAC Warm Neutrals Palette
Was there any need for me to mention this?! It's a palette fulled with beauty warm neutral colours a.k.a. my eyeshadow heaven. I've already done  full review with swatches, so I won't linger on this.

Single Eyeshadows:

Most Loved Eyeshadows of 2015
  •  Prestige Single Eyeshadow in Golden Retriever
  • Avon Single Eyeshadow in Champagne
  • ColourPop Cosmetics Super Shock Eyeshadow in Hammered
  • L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Golden Sage

Both the Avon and Prestige Shadows have been featured previously. Check links at the end of the post.
In 2015, I developed a love for green eyeshadows . They not only complement my eye colour, but they work great with my skin tone also. I've had the L'Oreal Infallible in Golden Sage for quite some time, but was too scared to casually wear green eyeshadow, but once I reminded myself that people's opinion on my makeup don't matter, I popped it on and fell in love.
L'Oreal Infallible in Golden Sage

Golden Sage, led to my decision to purchase ColourPop Hammered, because I wanted a smokier olive green eyeshadow for the longest time but again was to afraid to buy it and never use it. ColourPop eyeshadows are amazing! The texture is creamy, and is extremely pigmented. I'm definitely wanting to get my hands on some more.
ColourPop Super Shock Shadow - Hammered

 Mascara:

In 2015, two (2) mascaras stood out from all the rest I've tried, although I still love the L'Oreal Butterfly Effect, Jordana Best Lash Extreme and Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascaras, were my definite favourites. Honourary mention to Maybelline The Rocket Mascara, which I also enjoyed this year.
Favourite Mascaras 2015.
Eyeliner:
L'Oreal 24HR Lacquer Liner in Espresso and Blackest Black ( I haven't tried anything new that beats this)

This is only part 1 of my 2015 Best in Beauty, next week will be Face products of 2015.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, I hope you enjoyed.
As always stay happy, healthy, and positive and I shall talk to you all soon.
Bye (^_^)/

October Makeup Favourites

Hello everyone!
We have hit the end of October 2015, and it is time for my monthly favourites. Some of these products I have spoken about in previous favourites posts, but there are 3 products that have fallen neatly into my daily routine.
Links to past reviews on products will be left at the end pf the post.

Makeup

Face:  Sacha Cosmetics Mattifier and ButterCup Powder

Sacha Mattifier and Buttercup Setting Powder (Loose)
I have reviewed these products in a couple previous posts, and I am surprised how easily they fit into my daily routine. The Buttercup powder, has dethrone my Maybelline Shine Free Loose Powder in Medium and is now my go to loose powder, while the Mattifier pairs well with my e.l.f Mineral Face Primer, for flawless looking skin and maximum oil control.
The Buttercup powder is very finely milled, and it does not feel heavy or look cakey on the skin. Definitely a great investment.

Eyes: NYX Tinted Brow Mascara and Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eyeliner
NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Brunette and Milani Eye Tech Extreme in Blackest Black

If you need an easy way to keep your brows in place, while simultaneously filling them in, the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara is definitely a great, inexpensive option. I have the shade Brunette, which works really well for me, but I am very curious to try a darker shade. (For pics of this product in action check out my IG: @ladyjpsych).
I recently reunited with my beloved Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eyeliner, and I could not be happier. I was previously using the Jordana Fabuliner, which I enjoyed, however, the finer felt tip of the Eye Tech Extreme allows you to have more control over the thickness of your eyeliner compared to the Fabuliner. Although the Fabuliner is cheaper, I would honestly put out the extra for the Eye Tech Extreme.

Lips: Avon Ultra Glazewear Lipgloss in Palm Beach Pink and Jordana Twist and Shine Moisturizing Balm in Honey Love
Jordana Twist and Shine In Honey Love and Avon Ultra Glazewear Gloss in Palm Beach Pink
I have mentioned both of these products in multiple favourites posts, so I'll keep it short.
Both of these feel super comfortable on the lips. They are moisturing, and have a good amount of pigmentation. They are great for days when you aren't feeling to wear much on the lips, because they feel very light on the lips.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you so much for coming by the blog today. I hope you all enjoyed today's post. Feel free to let me know some of your favourite products for this month in the comments or over on my IG (@ladyjpsych). As always, I hope you have a great weekend, stay safe!
Until next time stay happy, healthy and positive.

Milani Eyeshadow Primer - Is it a Dupe for Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion?

Welcome back to my blog everyone!
Today, it's all about the Milani Eyeshadow Primer.

Milani is one of my favourite inexpensive makeup brands, and can be found in Trinidad at Wonderful World.
I've been putting off getting this eyeshadow primer, simply because I own a fair few, and I didn't really want to buy another one. If you're a regular visitor, you would know that I've been searching far and wide for an inexpensive alternative to my trusty Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (UDPP) and my Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Eyeshadow Primer.

**I've tried eyeshadow primers from Nicka K (which I previously reviewed; http://jsmindpalace.blogspot.com/2015/05/nicka-k-perfecting-eyeshadow-primer.html).
**I've also tried one from Rimmel, which I did a quick review on my Instagram (@ladyjpsych).

Now to the Milani Eyeshadow Primer:
Milani Eyeshadow Primer
I've been using this primer for two weeks now, and I can safely say that this is a great dupe for the UDPP.
The product itself is similar in appearance, texture and finish to the UDPP. The only difference I find between the two is the price. The UDPP cost approximately $190-$200TT, which roughly around US$18-US$20 while the Milani Eyeshadow Primer costs approximately $60-$65TT (US$5.99).

In terms of longevity, this primer holds up well. I've gotten between 8-10 hours of wear with little to no creasing or fading whatsoever, similar to the UDPP, in my experience.
After 10 hours of wear.
When I use this product, not only do I use it on my eyelid but I also put some in my brows to help make my brow products last a bit longer during the day, and it really works. Usually my oily/combo skin eats away at my brow products, leaving gaps but since I started priming my brows with this, I've had no problems with that.

Milani Eyeshadow Primer applied all over the eye and into the brows.

This primer is unbelievable especially for the price range. I absolutely love this eyeshadow primer. I've actually put away my UDPP and have been strictly using the Milani primer because it's so good.

This to me is definitely an amazing dupe for the UDPP, I highly recommend it! ^O^

Please forgive me, I know this post is a lot later than usual, got thrown off schedule a bit but better late than never...right?!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and a great week next week. I don't think I'm going to be doing a monthly favourites for June, simply because I did my Favourite Single Eyeshadow posts, and those were basically my loves for June. Feel free to check it out if you'd like. As always stay happy, healthy and positive, come over to my Instagram (@ladyjpsych), I'd love to have you there. I've been contemplating starting a Facebook page for the blog, let me know if you guys would be interested in that in the comments.

Thanks for stopping by everyone,
Bye (^_^)/.

My Favourite Single Eyeshadows Part 1 - Bronze, Copper and Gold

Hello darlings!! Today, I'm going to be posting all about some of my favourite single eyeshadows that are great for a single eyeshadow look. I took my inspiration for this post from emilynoel83, from a video she did I believe back in 2013, all about her favourite stand alone eyeshadows that are capable of being used for a one-eyeshadow look.

A little warning : If you live in Trinidad and Tobago, the Avon Single Eyeshadows I'm mentioning, may not be available to you, because Avon has officially stopped selling their products to Trinidad and I believe a few other Caribbean islands.  I'm sorry for including them since they are hard to get your hands on, but you don't need to get the exact products listed here.

All of the eyeshadows that will be mentioned, are a mid-tone colour with a shimmery/metallic in finish, but when blended into the crease, they take on a softer, more satin look, creating the illusion of two separate shadows on the eye.I usually do this type of eyeshadow look when I'm strapped for time on a morning, or if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to use multiple eyeshadows for one look.

Simple, One Eyeshadow Look Using Avon Satin Taupe Single Eyeshadow

1. Bronze and Copper

Bronzes and Coppers look amazing on brown eyes, because to me they bring out the richness in the brown. I also find that these shadows bring out the warmth in my skintone. I have a warm/yellow undertone to my skin (MAC NC44/ True Match W7).

Top Row:
  • Avon Single Eyeshadow (full review in archives)
    • Copper - (true copper colour)
    • Bronze Luster - (deep smokey bronze shade with some gold shimmer throughout)
    • Satin Taupe - (a brown taupe shade)
Bottom Row:
  • Milani Single Powder Eyeshadow - Caramel Brown (A golden bronze brown)
  • L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow - Bronzed Taupe- The Infallible Eyeshadows from L'Oreal, closely resemble a pressed pigment and are best applied with the fingers.
Swatches of each of the aforementioned eyeshadows.
All of these eyeshadows are very soft and pigmented, and they don't typically need any base/primer beneath them unless you have super oily eyelids, then I will recommend using a eyeshadow primer underneath.

2. Gold

Excuse me while I rip off Goldmember from Austin Powers by saying, " I love gold!"
Gold eyeshadow on my eyelids just make me extremely happy. I have a good number of gold eyeshadows, but the following three (3), are my favourite for a single eyeshadow look.
Each of these shadows have a very warm tone but are not strong yellow golds by any means, therefore they really bring out the warmth in the skin, or at least in my skin.
Slight warning about the Prestige eyeshadow, it is super pigmented, the texture is quite similar to the L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows, where it feels incredibly soft, but the amount of pigment is insane, so be very careful when applying it. I recommend applying onto the lid with a finger, then blending out with a fluffy brush like the CALA 311 or Ecotools Blending Brush.

 Left to Right:
  • NYX Single Eyeshadow- Oro
  • Prestige Eyeshadow - Golden Retriever
  • Milani Runway Eyes Baked Eyeshadow - Bronze Doll
Swatches
Part 2 of this series will go live either next Friday or this Sunday, I haven't decided on that just yet, but I didn't want to make this post too picture heavy. I've also bought some new products to test out, and I can't wait to get to work on those post. I'll post a picture of the hauled products on Instagram, so be sure to follow me over there, also I posted my May favourites on my Instagram also so feel free to check it out (@ladyjpsych).

I believe that is all for today, I hope you all have a great weekend, and a great week, and I will talk to you all again very soon.
Stay happy, positive and healthy darlings.
Bye ^_^)/

Favourites! September and October Combined

Hey guys, today it's going to be all my favourite products from both September and October. The reason why it's a combined favourites is my camera's Memory cards died towards to beginning of October and I ended up losing all my pictures for September :(

September and October Favourites

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush
1. Milani Powder Eyeshadow in Brown Stone. A completely matte dark brown shadow that I use to fill in my eyebrows. It's velvety smooth and pigmented, but I think it may have been discontinued and I've hit pan. (-_-')

2. Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 107. It is a beautiful matte berry red. Glides on like butter and it doesn't budge after application. Highly recommend.

3. L'Oreal Infallible Lacquer Liner 24HR in Blackest Black. I've had this for approximately 6-7months and it remains super creamy which makes it a breeze to apply. It's also very waterproof and smudge proof, I've walked through rain with this thing on and it didn't move. Mine is yet to show any signs of drying out so if you've been looking for a gel liner, you should give this one a go!

4. Beauty Treats Professional 88 Palette
This palette is great for a novice with eyeshadow and it's also great if you really enjoy neutral eyeshadows like I do. Now some of the eyeshadows are smooth, some are powdery but not chalky at all. They are fairly pigmented and easy to blend. If you're a teenager and new to makeup and you want an affordable neutral eyeshadow palette, you should give this a try.

5. Avon Big Daring Volume Mascara
One coat and my lashes are plump and volumised...ummm..yes please, give me more! The brush is a similar shape to Maybelline The Falsies but it's larger and has more bristles on it compared to The Falsies. It's a dark, rich black but for me the only drawback is that it's an extremely wet formula. However, when it dries it's smudge proof so it gets a thumbs up.

6. L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Amber Rush
This particular shade in the L'oreal Infallible eyeshadow line has quite the following from bloggers, to Youtubers, to celebrity makeup artist and it's not hard to see why. It's an extremely pigmented pinkish-tan colour and it's absolutely beautiful. it has the look and feel of a pressed pigment, super creamy, blends easily and if you apply it correctly i.e. with your fingers instead of a brush, there is no fallout.
I used this pigment on and off since I bought it in the later half of 2013, however I used it recently for my graduation portrait and it just looked so beautiful I had to include it in this combined favourites post.

Games

World Of Warcraft
I took the plunge into WoW and I'm hooked. I'm still a complete noob but I'm learning the ropes and enjoying every minute of it.

Diablo 3
Yes I've only now started playing Blizzard games, does that mean I have to turn in my nerd card? I only have the starter edition of Diablo 3 but rest assured I will be splurging on both DIablo 3 and Reaper of Souls for my birthday. Gotta treat myself ;)
my only problem with playing both of these games is my crappy internet connection...sighsss

Television

Doctor Who
The new series with the 12th Doctor has come to an end and oh my goodness, the feels were too much! I was never a huge fan of clara but the last two episode tore my heart out of my chest. Clara and Danny forever :'( I will say that this series had it's up and downs in terms of the episodes themselves, some were brilliant while others were just meh. Now that this series is finished, it's time to await this year's Christmas special with Nick Frost as Santa!!! - It's not a spoiler, the pic has been going around since the finale.

This now marks he end of another post, my next post will be about new Television shows I've been greatly enjoying. Also if there's anything specific that you would like to see more of on here, let me know, all of my social media links are posted to the right hand side of the blog. Until next time, stay happy, healthy and positive and I'll see you next time.

Makeup Battle Royale #2 : Eyeliner Throwdown: L'oreal Infallible Super Slim vs Milani Eye Tech Extreme

Hey everyone, how have you been? It's been a while since my last post. Had an awkward fall last week and hurt my left hand and wrist so I wasn't able to post anything last week and I'm sorry. I'm planning on making up for it by doing a double posting this week. Yep, that's right, two posts in one week!

Today's post is another makeup battle royal, two products battling it out for supremacy. Which of these liners do I prefer, well you'll have to keep reading to find out...
It's time for a felt tip pen liquid eyeliner throwdown! (Such a mouthful, lol!)

The Look:
L'Oreal Infallible Super Slim 8 hour liquid liner pen (top)
Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eye Liner (bottom)

  • Very similar, both are pure black with gold detailing and a cushion grip
  • Both contain 1ml of product
  • Both made in Germany
The Tip:
L'Oreal Liner

Milani Liner
  • Long, felt tip applicator on both
  • The L'Oreal liner tip is firmer
  • Milani is more flexible and malleable.
  • Both liners can achieve an extremely thin liner look and a bolder, more dramatic liner look, by varying the pressure you use when applying it to the eye.
 Pigmentation:
  • Both are extremely pigmented and dry to a slightly matte finish.

Doesn't seem as though there is a clear cut winner here does it? Well, the liner that wins, is the one with the better staying power. As an oily skin girl, I need a liner to stay put all day long, until I decide to take it off. The liner that does that is.........the......Milani Eye Tech!!
  • The Milani Eye Tech blows the L'Oreal liner out of the water in terms of staying power for me. Usually, the L'Oreal Super Slim 8hr smudges badly within 2 hours and that's with eye primer on. No bueno! Milani Eye Tech stays put, no smudging, no flaking with or without a primer.
I recommend the Eye Tech over the Super Slim to my friends whether they have oily, dry or normal skin. In Trinidad, the Milani Eye Tech can be purchased at Wonderful World (that's where I got mine) or you could order it online from Milani's website.

I really wanted to like the Super Slim liner, however, it failed to life up to it's claim of 8 hour wear. The Eye Tech liner I've had for over 6 months and it hasn't dried out, which is quite impressive. I will continue to repurchase the Eye Tech Extreme liner, until I can find felt tip liner that knocks it off of it's pedestal.

This concludes this Makeup Battle Royale!! Congratulations Milani, you've knocked out your opponent and taken the crown. Thanks for sticking to the end everyone. Hope you all are having a great week, stay positive, healthy and happy and I will see you later this week for another post!
Bye Bye :)
