November Favourites!

December is upon us, Christmas is almost here, my birthday is quickly approaching *sighs*, the year 2014 is almost at its end....someone find me a TARDIS ASAP! I don't know why time is in such a rush, slow it down a bit. Anywho, let me stop yammering due to my denial that I'll soon be 23 (o_o) and get on with this November favourites post.

We got a little bit of everything this month, so let's me jump right in!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Violet....errrrmerrrgerd!!! It's absolutely beautiful! Quite possibly the best lip product I've ever worn! It's creamy and highly pigmented liquid lipstick and the colour is gorgeous. It is my first purple lip product and it won't be the last.

Avon Ultra Luxury Lip Liner in Rosebud is a soft, creamy rose colour lip liner which looks beautiful on its own when used to fill in the lips. This past month however, I've been using this liner in conjunction with Wet n Wild's Bare It All lipstick, talk about the perfect my lips but better lip combo!

elf Mineral Face Primer and elf Complexion Brush.
elf may be "cheap" to many but most of their products that I've tried are worth so much more than their price. The elf mineral primer is my Holy Grail primer, beating out both the MAC and Revlon primers I owned previously. It has a silicone texture which I enjoy, often times non-silicone based primers do nothing to smooth out/blur  the appearance of pores. It truly creates a barrier between your skin and your makeup and allows for your foundation to buff out perfectly. It hasn't clogged my pores or caused any breakouts or weird skin reactions, so this primer gets a huge thumbs up.

elf Complexion Brush is the best multitasking face brush I've used. It's great for applying your setting powder and I also use it to apply my blush. Its bristles are fluffy, soft and slightly tapered so it allows for light application of powder products.

Finally the eye products.
1) L.A Colors Volumzing Mascara in Clear: This bad boy keeps my eyebrow hairs on lock down. It helped to keep my brows in place and smudge proof all day long.

2) Mini-Sephora Palette: This was given to me as a gift from one of my best friends a few years back and it's become quite a staple in my daily routine. The dark brown eyeshadow is perfect for filling in the eyebrows. The medium mauve shade, smack in the centre of the palette is gorgeous!! My favourite  all over lid colour. My only complaint is the dark blue, it applies beautifully but when blended out it becomes patchy and loses its vibrancy, however when used to set a navy blue liner it stays.

3) Revlon Photoready Concealer in 005 Medium Deep: I use this strictly to clean up around my eyebrows. It has a creamy consistency and has a medium to full coverage which is perfect for hiding to fine hairs around the brow that just don't want to be plucked.

4) Avon Big Daring Volume Mascara: hnnnng! This gives my lashes life, it looked fits and volumises and the small bristles get to the whimpiest of lashes and makes them look awesome. I am in love with this mascara. It definitely beats Maybelline The Falsies for me.

5) Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze: Super creamy, blendable but it stays put without an eyeshadow primer...in the Caribbean. I don't know how it stay so well in humid as hell Trinidad, but it did and it blows my mind. It's a quick and easy option if you don't have a lot of time in the morning.

6) NYX Angled Brush: I've had this brush since I was in secondary school and only now has it fulfilled its purpose. This is my go to brush for filling in my eyebrows. It's thin and sharply angled, so the brows are never too thick or too thin.

7) elf Eyeshadow Brush: This  brush is a tool of beauty. The bristles are soft and packed tightly together allowing for precise application of eyeshadow onto the lid. My go to eyeshadow brush for packing on colour and it's extremely affordable. Highly recommend this brush to everyone, newbie to pro, it is amazing and deserving of all praise.

This post has come to an end, now excuse me while I go wallow in the fact that soon I'll be 23.....or go play more World of Warcraft!
Please let me know some of your favorites from November in the comments or tweet them to me, links are to the right hand side of the blog.
Until next time, sty holy, stay healthy and stay positive and I'll talk to you soon.

Nerd Girl Faves: Favourite Television Shows

I've been waiting to start this series on my blog for a few weeks now. this idea popped into my head the very first time I snuck Doctor Who into one of my monthly favourites post. I will never fail to admit that I am an all round nerd. I love sci-fi and tech, I love video games and reading, comics and anime and also learning about any and everything. Yup all rounded nerd at your service!

For this specific post, I'm going to be sharing with you some of the old and new shows I've been indulging in and hey if you have a show you want to recommend, you can leave it in a comment below or you can send it to me on my social media accounts, I truly would love to know.

1. Power Rangers Ninja Storm
No, I am not ashamed to say that I spent a week binge watching Power Rangers! Ninja Storm was awesome when I was 10-11 and it's still awesome now. There's something so strange about re-watching a childhood favourite. I never realised how unbelievably corny, sarcastic and pun filled the humour was in Ninja Storm was back then, and since I have a great love and appreciation for corny, punny and sarcastic humour *(sarcasm is my second language, huehue) I just fell right back in love with Ninja Storm.

2. Doctor Who
This new season had it's ups and downs, a lot of hits and a few misses. However, there is something about Steven Moffat penning a season finale, that will almost always strike a blow to a Whovians heart and that's precisely what he did with the Series 8 finale. Poor Clara, poor Danny, poor Doctor :(. Although I'm sad that the new series/season is over, I cannot wait for the Christmas Special, Nick Frost as Santa!!! December needs to hurry and get here!

Well, that's it for the "oldies" this time, now onto the new stuff.

1. Gotham
Oswald Cobblepot....that is all!
Just Kidding! Honestly, I know that the show is meant to be based around Detective Jim Gordon, but Cobblepot steals the show. Robin Lord Taylor is undoubtedly one of the best actors I have seen in a while. He immersing himself so well into the persona of Cobblepot that it's hard to believe it's merely a character from a script that he's bringing to life.
One thing about this show is that the casting is above reproach. The casting was absolutely phenomenal and these amazing, mostly unknown group of actors bring forth perfect execution, to some of the better drama scripts in U.S network prime time television.

2. Scorpion
I've been waiting for a new show that involved a genius after CBS cancelled Numb3rs, and I have been given 4 geniuses, 1 Homeland Security agent, 1 former waitress now genius handler and her genius son.....Thank goodness! After watching the pilot on it's debut night, I haven't stopped tuning in to see what kind of trouble this band of genius misfits get into. Scorpion is made up by Walter, the leader and general genius badass, Toby the behaviourists (my personal favourite), Happy the mechanical genius and Sylvester the human calculator, Agent Gallo, Paige and her son Ralph <--(cute as a button). Scorpion is quickly becoming one of my favourite shows on television and I truly hope it doesn't meet the fate of Surviving Jack, which was absolutely amazing, one of the best comedies in recent years and it got cancelled. ;---;

I highly recommend if you are looking for a new show to watch to check one of these out if you haven't already. I will not post anything about specific episodes because....... "Spoilers ;)"

That's it for this post, I think I will continue with this nerd girl favourites series because so many new videogames have hit the shelves, so that will be an interesting undertaking. We are in the last week of November, therefore a November faves is rapidly approaching so be on the lookout for that.

Until next time, stay happy, stay healthy and stay positive and I'll talk to you soon.
Bye guys (^_^)/

Favourites! September and October Combined

Hey guys, today it's going to be all my favourite products from both September and October. The reason why it's a combined favourites is my camera's Memory cards died towards to beginning of October and I ended up losing all my pictures for September :(

September and October Favourites

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush
1. Milani Powder Eyeshadow in Brown Stone. A completely matte dark brown shadow that I use to fill in my eyebrows. It's velvety smooth and pigmented, but I think it may have been discontinued and I've hit pan. (-_-')

2. Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 107. It is a beautiful matte berry red. Glides on like butter and it doesn't budge after application. Highly recommend.

3. L'Oreal Infallible Lacquer Liner 24HR in Blackest Black. I've had this for approximately 6-7months and it remains super creamy which makes it a breeze to apply. It's also very waterproof and smudge proof, I've walked through rain with this thing on and it didn't move. Mine is yet to show any signs of drying out so if you've been looking for a gel liner, you should give this one a go!

4. Beauty Treats Professional 88 Palette
This palette is great for a novice with eyeshadow and it's also great if you really enjoy neutral eyeshadows like I do. Now some of the eyeshadows are smooth, some are powdery but not chalky at all. They are fairly pigmented and easy to blend. If you're a teenager and new to makeup and you want an affordable neutral eyeshadow palette, you should give this a try.

5. Avon Big Daring Volume Mascara
One coat and my lashes are plump and volumised...ummm..yes please, give me more! The brush is a similar shape to Maybelline The Falsies but it's larger and has more bristles on it compared to The Falsies. It's a dark, rich black but for me the only drawback is that it's an extremely wet formula. However, when it dries it's smudge proof so it gets a thumbs up.

6. L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Amber Rush
This particular shade in the L'oreal Infallible eyeshadow line has quite the following from bloggers, to Youtubers, to celebrity makeup artist and it's not hard to see why. It's an extremely pigmented pinkish-tan colour and it's absolutely beautiful. it has the look and feel of a pressed pigment, super creamy, blends easily and if you apply it correctly i.e. with your fingers instead of a brush, there is no fallout.
I used this pigment on and off since I bought it in the later half of 2013, however I used it recently for my graduation portrait and it just looked so beautiful I had to include it in this combined favourites post.

Games

World Of Warcraft
I took the plunge into WoW and I'm hooked. I'm still a complete noob but I'm learning the ropes and enjoying every minute of it.

Diablo 3
Yes I've only now started playing Blizzard games, does that mean I have to turn in my nerd card? I only have the starter edition of Diablo 3 but rest assured I will be splurging on both DIablo 3 and Reaper of Souls for my birthday. Gotta treat myself ;)
my only problem with playing both of these games is my crappy internet connection...sighsss

Television

Doctor Who
The new series with the 12th Doctor has come to an end and oh my goodness, the feels were too much! I was never a huge fan of clara but the last two episode tore my heart out of my chest. Clara and Danny forever :'( I will say that this series had it's up and downs in terms of the episodes themselves, some were brilliant while others were just meh. Now that this series is finished, it's time to await this year's Christmas special with Nick Frost as Santa!!! - It's not a spoiler, the pic has been going around since the finale.

This now marks he end of another post, my next post will be about new Television shows I've been greatly enjoying. Also if there's anything specific that you would like to see more of on here, let me know, all of my social media links are posted to the right hand side of the blog. Until next time, stay happy, healthy and positive and I'll see you next time.

Update : Slow Blog Post

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while and I'm sorry.

I have so many ideas for blog post but I haven't been putting them out at the rate which I want to. I've been ill off and on for the past few weeks with random sinus flare ups, migraines and tension headaches...it's been bad.
I managed however to get some photos done for my September favourites, only to have my SD card rejected by my computer. Apparently, with the latest Mac OS update, my SanDisk SD cards are no longer supported by the system. I thought I could work around it with trusty old HP mini, unfortunately my HP decided to kick the bucket the minute I booted it up ( I can't catch a break!) Until I get new SD cards or find a way to revive my Windows system, I'll have to shoot pictures for my blog with my iPhone, which means the quality is going to drop (-__-). It sucks but it's only temporary.

It's the second week of October, so I think I'll just post my very late September favourites on my Instagram and just start back pumping out some blog post in the upcoming week. (^_^)

I've been thinking about dedicating a post strictly to my favourite t.v shows, books and video games! I don't know how many people would like them but then again I really don't care, it's my blog I can post as I please. This will definitely be a series coming soon...stay tuned!

Lastly, I collected my graduation gown!! I cannot believe in 2 weeks I'll officially become a university graduate. Those 3 years flew by so quickly, it seems surreal. Those 3 years encompassed some of the best moments of my life and also some of the worse. I've made some amazing friends, which in the beginning I never thought I would be able to do. I am so happy and grateful to have such amazing people in my life.

Alrighty, that's enough sappiness for now, I may do a post about my graduation look (dress, makeup, hair) I think it might be interesting. Anywhos, that's it for this little update, I hope you all are doing well and have a great week!! Stay healthy, stay happy, stay positive and I'll talk to you guys soon.

Bye-bye (^__^)/

My Favourite(s): Mauvelous and Blush are my mains. I haven't been into my red lippies as much these days so Red Velvet has taken a back seat. I'm slowing getting into wearing Bare because nude lipstick terrifies me!

This is quite a short post but don't fear I will be back with more blog post. I have a ton of ideas, I just procrastinate a lot! *hides face* I'm working on developing a posting schedule to make things easier for myself as opposed to randomly posting during the week at odd times. Feel free to follow me on social media, links are to the right hand side of the page and until next time stay happy, stay positive and stay healthy!

Bye-Bye (UwU)/

August Favourites

It's the end of August and I was just bombarded by the fact that 10 years ago today, at the age of 12, I started Secondary School........I feel so old!!!!!! (-____-'')......
Alright, I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and get onto my favourite products from last month.

Skin Care:
  • Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream - I'm pleasantly surprised by this product. It's my first time using a gel moisturiser and I must say I love that it doesn't make me look exceedingly shiny. My face doesn't feel oily at all, it feels hydrated and soft. A big yes to this product especially if you are an oilier individual and if you have drier skin, I do believe Garnier makes a formula specific for dry skin.
  • L'Oreal Youth Code Serum - I mentioned this in my skincare empties a while back and nothing has changed, I still absolutely love this product and will continue to repurchase it. It truly fades dark spots and dark marks, it leaves the skin looking luminous and it's just a great product. Highly recommend!
Makeup:
  •   Avon UltraGlazewear lip glosses - I hauled these a while back and these two glosses have rekindled my love of lip glosses. For the past 2 years I gave up on lip glosses because I could not stand the sticky and gunky feeling of some of the glosses I owned, so I went exclusively to lipsticks. However, these bad boys have converted me. The shades I own are rich Raspberry (left) and Palm Beach Pink (right). The colours are beautifully pigmented, slightly tacky but not sticky, and they wear beautifully. They've been living in my handbag ever since I bought them and I really do want to get more of these glosses. Avon keep up the awesome work with the makeup products, I love'em!
  • Avon AeroVolume Mascara - This mascara I've been using for just over a month now and I do like it, however it's not the best mascara I've ever used but it's good. It thickens the lashes and adds a decent amount of volume. It's not the outrageous volume you would expect from something named AeroVolume, but it's more volume than a natural lash look but it's not super dramatic.
  • Real Techniques brushes - I've been lusting over these brushes for so long and now that I finally own them, I can see why so many people love them. They are AH-MAZE-BALLS!! Super soft and plush, the Expert Face brush blends and buffs foundation like a dream. However, it's the Fine Liner brush that takes my heart. It tales the work out of applying gel liner. It picks up just enough product for a full application to the eye, without the need for constantly dipping the brush back into the product and  it makes doing winged liner so much easier. I will not be surprised if my brush collection slowly starts developing into a Real Techniques shrine.
Videogames:
  •  Sims 3 - I've recently started back playing the Sims 3 and I forgot how easy it was to just get sucked into that game for hours on end. The Sims 4 will be released later this month and I know that I need to buy it....goodbye non-existent social life!
  • Pokémon Y - I'm going to become a Pokémon master no matter how long it takes me! I've been breeding and trading Pokémon in a desperate attempt to complete the Pokédex before the release of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, hopefully I can get it done in time *fingers crossed*
I've been pretty slow on finishing a couple of books I've been reading. I need to finish The Hobbit, The Percy Jackson Series as well as Philip Zimbardo's Lucifer Effect (because Psychology lol). Doctor Who is the only thing I watch on television lately and I must say I'm loving Capaldi.

Anywhosers, that's it for this post, hope you all enjoyed. Feel free to tell me some of your faves in a comment and until next time, stay happy, healthy and positive and I'll see you soon.
P.S SNS links are on the side if you want to chat with me or follow me

What's Up #4! At least I think it's #4: Update: End of Summer

Hello everyone. How have you been? It's been just about 2 weeks since my last post, yikes! I apologise for my absence but I decided that I needed to spend a little time away from the blog because I was just feeling really out of everything. I was in a bit of a glum slum, but now I'm back and I'm ready to go.
I have a few ideas for upcoming post. I'm definitely going to be posting an August Favourites, so look out for that one very soon. I'm also planning to do a lipstick post focusing on the L.A Colors Hydrating Lipsticks, I don't know when I'll be posting that one but I'm hoping it will be within the next week.

This week I signed up to take part in a makeup workshop and I'm super excited. We'll be learning some tips and tricks from a professional makeup artist and of course I'll be very willing to share some of what I learn with everyone. I'm also going to use this experience with the workshop to gauge if I really would like to look into makeup artistry as a profession. Although my heart belongs to psychology and my dream is to become a Forensic Psychologist, there's no rule dictating that I can't be a freelance makeup artist also. Who knows, freelancing as a makeup artist can help me pay for my Masters and I do love makeup, everything about it, which is one the main reasons I started this blog in the first place.

Now, most people love summer since it's a great time to go partying and hang out with friends or go clubbing. I love summer because of conventions. Now I've never been to a convention but I want to go so badly! Comic-Con and PAX Prime...I'll see you someday, I will find a way to you *sniffle*. I'm so excited for the announcement of new games, the launch of game trailers, I mean have you seen the Pokken announcement! A Tekken style, Pokemon fighting game....shut up and take my money! Also, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be launching soon!!<---(Pokemon Nerd I am!) A new Saints Row was announced today and yes I want it! I'm also wanting to get my hands on Minecraft because believe it or not I've never played it but all summer I've been hooked on Minecraft thanks to a series known as Mianite (#TeamIanite for life!) If you've never heard of Mianite, I highly recommend you check it out, it involves a bunch of awesome YouTubers and it's just so much fun to watch.

The lasst thing on my mind is.....Doctor Who! DOooooooo Weeeeeeeee Doooooo! (yes I had to do that!) The new season/series has started and I honestly like the darker vibe of Capaldi's Doctor. I'm not going to spoil the episode if you haven't seen it yet, but I think it was a good introduction of the 12th Doctor and I can't wait to see what the rest of the series has in store. (Please Steven Moffat, don't have too many feels inducing moments, my fragile emotions can't handle it!)

Anyways, that's enough rambling from me for now, so until my August Favourites post, I'll talk to you all very soon and as always, stay positive, stay healthy and stay happy.
Bye (^_______^/)

Product Rave: Avon Single Eyeshadow

Hello everybody, how have you been this week? I've been wanting to do a post about these Avon eyeshadows ever since I bought them, but for a few months on the Avon website, they were marked as no longer available. So, I've been waiting patiently for them to come back onto the website before doing this post.

I'm just going to get it out of the way and say, I freaking love these eyeshadows!!! (/^__^/)
These single eyeshadows come in three different finishes, matte (M), shimmer (S) and metallic (Me). I have 6 of these shadows in total out of the 20 shades available, 4 shimmer shades (S) and two matte (M).
The shades I have, starting on the left hand side,
Avon Single Eyeshadows
  1. Satin Taupe (S)
  2. Bronze Luster (S)
  3. Copper (S)
  4. Mauved (S)
  5. Plum Burgundy (M)
  6. Beige (M)
Why do I love these Avon single eyeshadows?
  • Beautifully pigmented
  • Glide on like butter
  • Buildable
  • Easy to blend including the matte shades
  • Affordable (these are US$4 on Avon's website, however prices vary if they are being purchased from an Avon representative)
Here are swatches from each of the shadows, each eyeshadow was swatched using only one swipe of the sponge tip applicator.

My Faves of the bunch are, Satin Taupe, Mauved and Copper!

The only major con/dislike I have with this particular product is that it does not come with a mirror. I'm aware that most single eyeshadows don't have their own mirror but they is more than enough space on the lid of the packaging to put a mirror. However, it doesn't in any way deter me from using these shadows at all.
Sleek black packaging with AVON inscribed on lid
Avon Eyeshadow in Mauved. Inside look of the packaging.

These eyeshadows are absolutely beautiful, and will continue to be staple in my collection. My only hope is that Avon does not discontinue or reformulate these eyeshadows because I think they hit the nail on the head perfectly with these bad boys. I highly recommend these for anyone looking for affordable, pigmented and easy to work with single eyeshadows or if you're eyeshadow hoarder like me.
Until next time, stay happy, stay positive, stay healthy.
Bye-Bye ^_^

Skincare Empties: Likes, Dislikes and Everything in Between

I promised that I would have two post up this week and I'm a girl who keeps my promises.

Today, I'm going to share with you my most recent skincare products that I've used up and whether I love them enough to repurchase them or if they fail miserably and were a waste of money.

Products:
  1. Freeman's Clay Mask Mint and Lemon - Love it! Leaves my face feeling refreshed and clean, definitely will repurchase.

  2. Freemon's Facial Polishing Mask Charcoal and Black Sugar - Love it! I did a blog post about this mask, and I can't stop praising it. It helped to reduce the number of blackheads I had. Highly recommend this mask for anyone with oily skin or prone to blackheads.

  3. Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner - Eh....it's okay but it's definitely not my favourite. My favourite toner/astringent is the Bioré Blemish Treating Astringent. If you have super sensitive skin or dry/normal skin the Simple Toner would be great for you but for me it just didn't make a difference. Will not be repurchasing.

  4. Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer - I do like this and I've already repurchased this product. It's lightweight as the name implies and very moisturizing. My only problem is that my skin tends to get oily when I used coming down to the end of the bottle. That never happened in the beginning, so I'm quite perplexed as to why it happened. Nonetheless, it's a great moisturizer that is not super heavy, so I don't mind busting out the blotting sheets once in a while.

  5. L'Oreal Youth Code Serum Corrector - I'm officially on my fourth one of these, so if that isn't love I don't know what is! It leaves my face feeling baby soft and luminous (not oily). It makes my skin looks as though it's naturally glowing and it has reduced my hyperpigmentation dramatically. I love it! I love it! I love it!

  6. Simple Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Night Cream - I have a love/hate relationship with this guy, one night I absolutely love it because it's very moisturising and it makes your face feel plump and nourished (good!)  but the next night it just feels heavy and greasy and my face looks and feels oily (bad!!). I'm currently trying out the Garnier  Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream as an alternative to this Simple Night Cream and I'm liking it so much more, so I won't be repurchasing the Simple Night Cream.

  7. Olay Age Defying Eye Gel (not pictured) - Hate it! I had to be upfront about this, I cannot stand this eye gel. It does absolutely nothing. It made my eye area oilier than it usually is, my dark under eye areas looked as though they got darker and I just...I don't like it one bit! Will not repurchase this at all!
Now, I really don't want to end this post negatively, so I'll mention my favourite face wash and scrub which I keep in stock because I love them. My favourite face wash is the St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Gel Cleanser and my favourite facial scrub is the St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. Both contain salicylic acid, are oil-free  and both absolutely amazing.

We've reached the end of today's post, but I will be back next week with a new post and it will be Avon related. I'm super excited to get working on that Avon post and it isn't a haul, I've been trying to behave myself and not shop for makeup as much as I usually do. So until then have a great weekend, a great week, stay happy, stay positive and I will see you soon.

Bye-Bye :)

Makeup Battle Royale #2 : Eyeliner Throwdown: L'oreal Infallible Super Slim vs Milani Eye Tech Extreme

Hey everyone, how have you been? It's been a while since my last post. Had an awkward fall last week and hurt my left hand and wrist so I wasn't able to post anything last week and I'm sorry. I'm planning on making up for it by doing a double posting this week. Yep, that's right, two posts in one week!

Today's post is another makeup battle royal, two products battling it out for supremacy. Which of these liners do I prefer, well you'll have to keep reading to find out...
It's time for a felt tip pen liquid eyeliner throwdown! (Such a mouthful, lol!)

The Look:
L'Oreal Infallible Super Slim 8 hour liquid liner pen (top)
Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eye Liner (bottom)

  • Very similar, both are pure black with gold detailing and a cushion grip
  • Both contain 1ml of product
  • Both made in Germany
The Tip:
L'Oreal Liner

Milani Liner
  • Long, felt tip applicator on both
  • The L'Oreal liner tip is firmer
  • Milani is more flexible and malleable.
  • Both liners can achieve an extremely thin liner look and a bolder, more dramatic liner look, by varying the pressure you use when applying it to the eye.
 Pigmentation:
  • Both are extremely pigmented and dry to a slightly matte finish.

Swatches
Doesn't seem as though there is a clear cut winner here does it? Well, the liner that wins, is the one with the better staying power. As an oily skin girl, I need a liner to stay put all day long, until I decide to take it off. The liner that does that is.........the......Milani Eye Tech!!
  • The Milani Eye Tech blows the L'Oreal liner out of the water in terms of staying power for me. Usually, the L'Oreal Super Slim 8hr smudges badly within 2 hours and that's with eye primer on. No bueno! Milani Eye Tech stays put, no smudging, no flaking with or without a primer.
I recommend the Eye Tech over the Super Slim to my friends whether they have oily, dry or normal skin. In Trinidad, the Milani Eye Tech can be purchased at Wonderful World (that's where I got mine) or you could order it online from Milani's website.

I really wanted to like the Super Slim liner, however, it failed to life up to it's claim of 8 hour wear. The Eye Tech liner I've had for over 6 months and it hasn't dried out, which is quite impressive. I will continue to repurchase the Eye Tech Extreme liner, until I can find felt tip liner that knocks it off of it's pedestal.

This concludes this Makeup Battle Royale!! Congratulations Milani, you've knocked out your opponent and taken the crown. Thanks for sticking to the end everyone. Hope you all are having a great week, stay positive, healthy and happy and I will see you later this week for another post!
Bye Bye :)

Itsy Bitsy Haul for July

Hello all!
I was supposed to post this haul last week but life happened. Better late than never, right?!

July Haul
 I picked up a few Jordana nail polishes, and yes the black, red and yellow I bought specifically for the World Cup Final (Deutschland!!) and the blue and bright coral-pink were mainly impulse buys. Starting from the left, the nail polishes from Jordana are;
  1.  Black
  2. Holiday Red
  3. Mellow Yellow
  4. Strawberry Marmalade
  5. Sapphire
The coral-pink is Strawberry Marmalade and it is beautiful on the nails. It's very "summery' and if you have a tan, you'll love it! I'm quite impressed by the Jordana polishes, they're very smooth and opaque with just one coat, but I usually do two coats anyway.

I also picked up the L'Oreal Youth Code Serum. This is a staple in my skin care arsenal. It really helped fade my hyper-pigmentation/ post breakout dark spots, which let's face it everyone hates.

Now, I have stretch marks and I'm not ashamed to say it. I've been working out more and losing fat (I hate the phrase losing weight!), so I have more stretch marks and I've heard that Bio-Oil was pretty good at fading them, so I picked up the small size just to test it out for myself.

L.A Girl Glossy Lips lipglosses. I bought 3, kept 1 for myself and gave 2 to my friend as part of a gift. They are sheer lipglosses, with a brush tip applicator. At first it feels quite sticky, but not uncomfortable. Usually sticky glosses last longer on the lips but I haven't worn this lip gloss for a substantial amount of time, so in terms of wear time I can't give an accurate estimation. The shade I kept for myself is a deep red called Caramel Apple, it has no shimmer or sparkle.
July Haul - Avon

Finally, my small order of Avon lipglosses came. I bought 2 for myself and 2 for my mom because we bought love Avon lippies, in fact Avon makeup is one of my definite favourites in general. I purchased the shades, starting from the left;
  1. Rich Raspberry
  2. Palm Beach Pink
  3. Darling Pink
  4. Fuchsia Frenzy
I kept Rich Raspberry and Palm Beach Pink for myself and Palm Beach Pink has not left my bag since I bought it. It's perfect to just throw on with you're in a hurry, it adds a subtle hint of colour to the lips and it isn't super sticky. I'm not a lipgloss girl, I prefer lipsticks but I have been enjoying these Avon lipglosses and I'm sure I'll purchase more in the future.

We've come to the end of my mini-haul. I've been under the weather all week, so I don't know what my next post is going to be or when it will done, but it will happen!
However, until my next post, I hope you all have a great weekend. Stay happy, healthy and positive and I'll see you lovely people again soon.
Bye :)

What's Up #3 : Lil Update

What's up everyone?

It's been over a week since my last post...the World Cup withdrawal is real :'(.
However, it doesn't mean the football drama is over. Both Philipp Lahm and Steven Gerrard announced their retirement from international football </3. Transfer season has been hot with new signings every other day and the rumour mill running overtime. This upcoming season is going to be worth the wait.

Now for some updatey, type things:
  1.  I did my last exam as an Undergrad student on the 14th, yay me! Feels odd saying that I completed my degree, 3 years over and done with in the blink of an eye. Now I get to start job hunting :/ , although I've been thinking of doing some makeup/cosmetology courses even some baking/pastry courses since I'm taking a year off before doing my Masters. I still have some decisions to make pertaining to doing my Masters, so I didn't apply immediately for the new semester.
  2. I dyed my hair. I've been rocking a deep burgundy colour for a while now and decided that I wanted a change, so I dyed it purple. Yep, purple. It's dark so without sunlight you can barely tell that it's even there which I really enjoy. It's been very gloomy these days in Trinidad (what do I expect it's the bloody rainy season here) so it's been hard to get a good pic of my hair colour but once I do, I'm sure I'll put it up on my Instagram. *Link to my Instagram and other social media things are to the right if you want to follow me ;)
  3. Caught a bit of a cold, so I've been under the weather for the past couple of days. I was supposed to post up a small haul this past Sunday but since I haven't been well, I've just been taking it easy, training and breeding my Pokémon (Yes, I play Pokémon!)

I will post my mini haul later on in the week, hopefully by Friday I should post it up. I have a butt ton of blog post ideas that I need to get working on.

Anywhosie, that's all for this lil update post, I hope you all are happy, healthy and safe. Remember to stay positive and I'll talk to you all soon.
Bye :)

Germany!!!!!! The New Champions of the World!!!!!

Deutschland!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man that match was nerve wrecking but Mario Götze's perfectly executed goal in the 113th minute brought it home.  I screamed when the goal was scored, and I also wept.
Germany is now the first European team to win a World Cup on South American soil. Congratulations guys, you deserve it!

Argentina they played hard, and they pushed throughout. They could have have taken it home early in the 25th minute, but the luck wasn't on their side I guess. The Argentine defense was a brick wall, almost every run made by a German player got cut off by a defender. Although they didn't win, Argentina deserves a hefty round of applause. Much respect to the Argentinian team.

So in short;

Congratulations to this amazing, talented and truly awe inspiring young German team!

Congratulations to Miroslav Klose, who may have very well played his last World Cup but became the top scoring player at the World Cup Finals with a total of 16 goals.

Congratulations to a coach unlike any other Joachim Löw. He took this young team and he helped them flourish. He's brought them a long way and despite uncertainty after the last World Cup about his future with the team, he stuck with them and today, July 13th 2014, Germany were crowned the Champions of the World.

Now I'm off to go study for my 9am exam tomorrow, wish me luck!
Bye guys :)))))

What's up #2: WC Finals Here We Come!!!!! Deutschland!!!!!

Germany is in the finals!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell that I'm excited?!!!!
Germany has gotten so close in the last three World Cups to hoisting the trophy but always fail to hit the mark in either the semis or the final themselves but after the display from the German side today, I have no doubt in my mind that 2014 can be the year this young and enthusiastic German team win the coveted World Cup trophy.

Germany handed down the worst defeat in Brazil's football history, with their 7-1 trashing of the host nation. Yup I said 7-1. Now I'm going to be completely honest, never would I have thought that Germany would trump Brazil so badly. I was expected a 2-1, maybe even 3-2, I was expecting a fight between two of the greatest football nations in this land and what I got was a clean German sweep and I ain't mad.

I must congratulate Germany's number 11, Miroslav Klose on becoming the most prolific scorer in the World Cup. Today on top of handing Brazil their worst defeat ever, Klose became the top goal scorer in the World Cup. The previous holder of the title of Most Goals Scored in the World Cup was none other than Brazil's Ronaldo who had scored 15 goals total in all his World Cup appearances. Klose now holds the record having scored his 16th goal against Brazil, and I'm positive that he's already planning on having his 17th in the big final in Rio.

Thomas Muller netted his 5th goal of the World Cup thus far (still gunning for the Golden Boot), but it was Toni Kroos who opened the floodgate when he scored his first goal. That goal exposed the weakness in the Brazilian defense and the Germans made them pay.

Now I can give all the love I want to the goalscorers, however, the German defense deserves some massive love as well. This is the most solid and synchronised I've seen the German backline for this entire World Cup. They were strong, they were forceful but they were never crude or reckless in thier tackling or defending. Good job boys!!
However, I can't speak about the German backline without mentioning the big guy in the goal, the man in green, Manuel Neuer. Simply put, he's a beast. Quite possibly the best goalkeeper I've seen since Oliver Kahn. Neuer is always well poised and ready to pounce, and he also takes one hell of a penalty (Bayern Munich vs Chelsea, it's worth a watch). He's downright outstanding and I enjoy seeing him on the pitch.

My celebratory blog would not be complete however, if I don't mention Germany's amazing coach Joachim Low. After the last World Cup, I was petrified that Low would resign from coaching the German team but am I ever so grateful that he stayed put. I firmly believe that Low can lead the Germans to hoisting the trophy this time around. He's heavily involved in their training and from the pictures they post of the Germany National Team's Facebook page, he may even be running circles around them during training.

I believe in Low and his technical team, I believe in this bright-hearted and spirited German team. Off to Rio they go, this Sunday July 13th, will they be the ones lifting the World Cup trophy? I hope so, with all of my heart, I believe that 2014 is the year of Germany.

Makeup Battle Royale: Revlon Lash Potion vs. Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

Now just for clarification, I am not a makeup artist or makeup expert, I'm just a girl with a makeup addiction. I also happen to be a girl with some very picky lashes. On my right eye, my eyelashes are thicker and longer than those on the left (I will never understand why).

I fell in love with the Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara by Fabulash back in September 2013 It was on sale so I decided to pick it up and try it out since I was in a bit of a mascara runt. Prior to purchasing this I used religiously the Maybelline Falseies Black Drama Mascara, which is an absolutely amazing mascara. It gives me amazing volume and extreme black and full lashes but it's approximately TT$63 and that's ridiculously expensive. Then again makeup here in Trinidad is ridiculously expensive no matter where you shop (sighs).

The Grow Luscious gives me great volume and some lift. It's not as dramatic as the Falsies so I do use it everyday. I gotten so attached to the Grow Luscious that I haven't repurchased a single tube of the Falsies since I first picked this guy up. I'm on my third tube of it and I still love it oh so much.

Now this post was initially just going to be strictly focusing on the Lash Potion Mascara but I figured sine I had the two I'll spill my thoughts on them both. Now the Lash Potion, it just doesn't do it for me. I really want to love this mascara but I just don't. The brush to me makes no sense whatsoever. It does give some good separation to my lashes, but I prefer the traditional brush of the Grow Luscious.
Sorry about the crappy quality
The formula of the Lash Potion was extremely dry for me and it would flake as I was applying it. Now I'm not sure if it was just my tube or if it truly is the mascara itself, but nothing is more uncomfortable than holding this weirdo wand to your eye, applying your mascara and having black chunks of product fall into your eyes, making you tear up. At least Lash Potion is extremely waterproof and smudge-proof for me. I have worn this mascara on long, hot, humid days on campus, even through workouts and I don't end up with raccoon eyes so yay.  I usually only have to do two coats of the Grow Luscious to get my desired lash volume but with the Lash Potion I have to do 3-4 coats, no just no!
Would I repurchase the Lash Potion Mascara? - No! Nopey, no no! I only use it because I hate to waste money, so until it's finished or expired I will force myself to keep using it.

Well, that's all for me for today, I hope you all have a great week and weekend :D
I will talk to you soon, stay positive, stay happy and stay healthy.
Bye guys. :)

What's Up #1? World Cup Fever!

It's been awhile blog. How are you today? How has you week been? I've been away for a bit thanks to an assignment I had due, but hey a couple more weeks and I'll be a University graduate...yay!

I won't lie I've gotten distracted badly. I'm a huge football fan so the Brazil World Cup 2014 has been the locus of my focus (ohh such rhyming skillz..lol).
Now lemme just get this out of the way and say, I AM A GERMANY FAN!!! Yes Deutschland is the place that holds my heart every single World Cup. I've been supporting Germany since 1998 since that was the first World Cup I ever watched from Group Stages to the Final. I really want Germany to take it this year, they've gotten so close multiple times, but this time, is their time, but first we have to survive Group G. They managed to stun Portugal in their first match and a draw with Ghana (possibly the best game yet, imo), and the next task is the USA on Thursday. Win or draw we advance but I want a win to finish off the group stage in style.

This was supposed to be posted last night before the USA-Portugal match, but boy am I glad I didn't post this up. That last 30 second goal from Portugal was a beaut!
There have been some massive upsets in the World Cup thus far with the defending champions Spain getting the boot thanks to the Netherlands and Chile (good job guys!). France has been impressive in their first two matches, after the last World Cup, France became the joke of the football world, but this year they aren't making any jokes. Benzema and Giroud have been outstanding for France, and my eye is now trained to recognize Valbuena on the pitch, because let's face it, the guy is amazing! He has speed, and he sets up some of the most beautiful plays and goals I've seen in a long time.

Now let's talk about England. Oh boy England, oh boy. I don't hide the fact that I am a die hard Liverpool FC fan and a good few of the England players play for Liverpool so I was ready to support my boys and I can honestly say England why? What happened over the years? England used to be a power house in both European and World football, what happened? Sighs, it's bittersweet having to see them depart so quickly but that's football.

This World Cup is the ultimate thriller for me thus far, the biggest of the big are being sent home, and the "smaller" teams are the ones sending them home and I LOVE IT!!! I can't wait to see how this unfolds further. I'm hoping for a Netherlands-Germany final, but with the way things are shaping up you'll never know who makes it all the way to the end.

So guys please feel free to let me know how you've been and who you'll be supporting this World Cup. As always stay positive, stay healthy and I will post again soon....I might just have a review in the works ;) ;)

P.S. If you like football ranting, follow me on Twitter, where I post random burst of football excitement at your faces :D

Bye guys :)

Makeup Haul!!! Collective Haul for June.

My name is Je Line and I am a makeup addict!!!
I love makeup and especially love buying and trying new products out. Now for a little clarity, I live in Trinidad so most of the drugstore makeup available in the US unfortunately is not available here .....or so I thought. I recently took a trip to Starlite Pharmacy and I won't lie I found my mothership. Elf cosmetics, Rimmel and a few other brands that aren't readily available in Trinidad lined the perimeter of the store....it was love at first sight.

The eyelashes and eyelash adhesive were purchased at my uncle's variety store. I've never used false lashes before so I didn't want to spend a crap ton of money on them. Each pair cost me $35TT which is cheap here in Trinidad. I'm very excited to try these bad boys out! They are by the brand Sassi.

Sassi America Eyelashes
Next the products I picked up at Starlite.

I've been wanting the Real Techniques Fine Liner brush for ages and I'm super happy that I was finally able to get my hands on it! I also picked up some elf (eyeslipsface)products, the elf Complexion Brush, elf Cream Liner in Plum Purple and elf Single Eyeshadow in Wild Wheat.

elf Single Eyeshadow- Wild Wheat

Rimmel is finally being imported to Trinidad so I managed to pick up my second Rimmel by Kate lipstick. This shade number of this lipstick is 107.
Rimmel Kate Moss 107
Last but not least, I picked up a Prestige Single Eyeshadow in the shade Golden Retriever. I've heard it's a dupe for MAC's Goldmine but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Prestige Eyeshadow in Golden Retriever

I found some Rimmel products on a random day out with my parents. Seeing that I already own a couple of the Kate Moss lipsticks I decided I would try some of their eye pencils to see how they work.

Rimmel Scadaleyes Eyeshadow Crayon in 003 Bad Girl Bronze

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in 230 Deep Ocean
and

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog, hopefully I don't get too caught up in the World Cup and post things more regularly but until we meet again stay positive, stay happy and I'll speak to you soon. :)

First Product Review!! Freeman's Mask

This bad boy has honestly become a favourite in only a few weeks. I absolutely love this stuff!

The Charcoal and Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask, is an Allure Magazine Best of Beauty Award 2013 Winner.

According to bth the website and the packaging, "this mask and scrub works double time to detox skin. Firstly, naturally purifying Activated Charcoal helps absorb oil and impurities without over drying. Then Black Sugar helps exfoliate away dulling skin cells for softness and clarity. Perfect for all skin types."

I have incredibly oily, sometimes incredibly sensitive skin and it doesn't help that I live in a hot and humid climate (yay Carribean girl life!) so I need to exfoliate often to prevent over-production of oil and to remove excess sebum. This mask does this and it does it so well. It's bumped my usual St. Ives Apricot Scrub from my skincare routine. It's that amazing!!!

It looks very odd and you will scare people when you apply it to your face.

The mask as soon as it makes contact with my skin produces a warming sensation, it is by far one of the strangest things I've ever experienced.
Now I've seen reviews where people complain about the mask burning them but I've personally never experienced that, so please be careful, just because it worked well for me doesn't mean it'll be the same for everyone else.

After one use, my skin felt baby soft and look brighter.
After using it for a few weeks, I've noticed the number of blackheads I had was reduced, my skin is clearer and brighter!

I absolutely love this stuff and it's definitely a product I will repurchase!

So tell me what's your favourite face mask is, I would love to know :)
Until next time, stay positive and happy!
